Jack-the-Cat Goes Wild is a new adventure for Jack-the-Cat, and the second book in the Jack-the-Cat’s Adventures series. Jack travels around Cyprus meeting different wild animals of the island. He has lots of fun meeting these animals, but more importantly, every animal has something to teach Jack-the-Cat about perseverance.
the butterfly guide
A Swallowtail Butterfly glides into Jack’s room and asks “Can you guess how many different wild animals live on this island?”

alagadi beach
“Go and meet the sea turtles of Alagadi beach!” the butterfly encourages Jack. She flies away, followed by the map. They both land on a sandstone on the beach.
swim
“Come and swim with us, Jack!” The turtles point at the sea as they slowly crawl back into the water. Jack takes a deep breath, dips his paw in, tastes the salty sea water and nervously, but bravely, jumps in with the turtles. “How easily you glide through the water,” says Jack, watching the turtles.

Kyrenia
“The Kyrenia Mountains” says Jack, when he sees where they landed. “This is the mountain range with peaks resembling five fingers!”
“Yes! Go and meet the animals of the Kyrenia Mountains!” the butterfly suggests.
Chameleons
“Hello, hello, chameleons!” Jack greets them, jumping up and down. “You have long and curly tails, dear chameleons. Can you show me how you use your tails?”
“Easy peasy,” the chameleons yell back. “Our tail is like an extra hand. We use them to cling to branches!”

Troodos
The Troodos National Forest Park
“Hello, hello, mouflons,” Jack warmly greets them. “You all look so strong. Please tell me about yourselves.”
“Baaaa, baaaaaa,” the mouflons bleat shyly but proudly. “We are the largest of all the wild animals on Cyprus! We move quickly and climb steep mountain slopes.”

Moufflon
“Come climb with us, Jack!” The mouflons invite Jack up a steep slope.
Jack takes a deep breath and starts climbing with the mouflons. “Oh, oh!” Jack pants after a short while. “You are not only the largest but also the fastest animals of Cyprus!”

Karpas Donkeys
“Hee-haw, hee-haw,” the donkeys bray wildly, inviting Jack to sit on one of the strongest donkeys for a ride. “Hee-haw, hee-haw!”
“Can you also say ‘hee-haw, hee-haw’?’’ they yell back at Jack.
Karpas Sunset
As the sun sets in Karpas, Jack-the-Cat thinks about the four animals of Cyprus he met that day. The butterfly, still comfortably lounging on a bush, wakes Jack up from his thoughts and starts quizzing him: “Remember the names of all the animals you met today?”
